ISL 2019 point table

ISL 2019 point table

Let’s begin our conquest by looking at the points table. Unsurprisingly, Atlético de Kolkata sits on top with two wins out of three. However, their season has been pretty inconsistent. While the team in form is Jamshedpur FC. They have two wins in two. While the rest of the playoffs spots is filled with Goa and Northeast United with 5 points each.

Mumbai sits below them with 4 points. But shockingly enough, Current champion Bengaluru FC has just two points from two games. Chennaiyin FC also has just one point in three games. Although it is the start of a campaign, but one-sixth of the campaign is already completed. So, teams need to get back in form soon.

Reigning champion struggling at the start

Bengaluru FC won their first title last year, but it seems they haven’t picked their last year form as of yet. Both of their matches till now have been drawn. They face an in-form Jamshedpur FC away in their next match. This will be a big match, and as Bengaluru FC would be looking to stamp their authority as champions in IPL 2019 and Jamshedpur FC would like to continue their form.

Another team that is struggling this season is Chennaiyin FC. They have just one point in the opening three games. That too came in a goalless draw against Mumbai FC, which saw a player sent off. The Two-time champion has a pretty inconsistent league performance over the years. They finish one year in the playoff spot and fall to the bottom next year. Last year they finished 10th, and it was expected they rise to the top again this year. Lets see what happens in the following weeks.

ATK sits top of the table

ATK team 2019

Sourav Ganguly’s Atlético de Kolkata is leading the way for this season. However, their season has been very inconsistent. On the opening day, they lost away to Kerala blasters. In a game where they were leading. Then the newly established Hyderabad visited the Salt Lake stadium, and they were thrashed 5-0.

After this, they visit the struggling Chennaiyin FC, whom they narrowly edged out due to a David Williams goal. ATK Team 2019 is looking strong this season. If I had to put my money on who’s finishing the top of the table, ATK has my bet.

At last, Hyderabad beats the blasters after a tough start

The newly established Hyderabad FC, who are making their debut in ISL 2019, are finding it very tough. Though they registered a shocking victory over Kerala with a scoreline of 2-1. But, it will be really tough for them to continue their winning run in the tournament with a goal difference of minus six.

Upset of the season till now

There are a couple of matches that are contenders for upset of the season. Odisha FC’s win over Mumbai was an upset, but we have decided to pick Kerala Blasters’ shocking loss against Hyderabad FC.

After defeating ATK at home, Kerala was expected to score big in the match against Hyderabad. After facing big losses against Kolkata and Jamshedpur, Hyderabad was assumed to lose its 3rd match too. But, to everyone’s surprise, Hyderabad snatched a victory from under the nose of the Kerala Blasters.

Rest of the league

Goa, Northeast United, Mumbai are occupying the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots at the moment. However, they aren’t far behind the likes of Odisha and Kerala. So, a couple of bad results and these teams can easily end up in the bottom.

ISL 2019 Schedule

It is very easy days for anyone to call anything out. But ATK and Jamshedpur are clearly the better teams, as seen in their performance.
